The fifth edition of the Green Chemistry & White Biotechnology – (Bio-)Polymers and Ecocircularity: From Challenges to Opportunities conference will take place in Gosselies (Belgium) on May 8th and 9th, 2019. The aim of the event is to take stock of the innovative technology used to boost activities in the fields of green chemistry and white biotechnology, to share knowledge and to encourage the creation of new R&D projects involving the academic world, research centres and industrial players in the sector at regional and international scale.
In this framework, and in collaboration with the other EU initiative AgriChemWhey, KaRMA2020 will take part in the workshop Symbiotic industrial and agricultural value chain & Valorization of agro-food waste into biopolymers for packaging, what can be done in Wallonia? Lessons from the EU projects AgriChemWhey and KaRMA. The aim of the workshop is to build symbiotic agro-industrial value chains for the production of biopolymers (especially for packaging) from agrofood wastes, with a particular regard of Wallonia region, learning from EU projects. During this workshop, representatives from AgriChemWhey and KaRMA2020 project will interact with local stakeholder of Wallonia to disseminate good practices for the connection of the agrofood and polymer industry sectors to eventually valorise agro-food waste into high added value molecules.
